It's been over a year since I got home.
(See above title)
It’s time to get down to business. The adventure happened, and it’s easy to say it’s over. But if I’m honest and listening, I think the adventure is still going, but it’s different and hard and trying. But my guide and lover remains constant.
I will follow after Him.

The King's Answer
Once upon a time, in a land not so especially far away, there lived a young prince named Peter. Unlike most princes who rode horses, sailed boats, learned to fight, had grand adventures and generally lived exciting and happy lives; Peter did none of these things.
You see, only a few days after Prince Peter’s eighth birthday, a dangerous rebellion among people of the land forced his father the...

Check out this awesome post by Jon Acuff.
See the truth is, I’m not completely sure God wants me to have fun. Like people who believe the first thing God will do if they turn over their lives to him is make them be missionaries in Africa, I’m not always convinced he wants me to really enjoy what I do.
Jon totally captures this twisted idea that so many...
I am officially home.
Recently I was reminded that I haven’t actually announced on my blog that I am indeed back in America. So, it’s official. I’m back in the States. :)
Thanks for following the last six months and the sweet things God has been doing. I hope to continue writing as my adventure continues back here in Ohio.
God Bless, John-Paul :)

Dargaville Bound - Outreach Phase Part 3
Camp was incredible! We got back to Oakridge about 8pm last night and in a few hours we’ll head out for the last leg of our outreach. We’ll be working in the town of Dargaville doing “Bible in Schools” programs, church services, helping with youth groups, and celebrating a mid-winter “Christmas” with the town!
I learned a lot at camp. Expect a longer post in a...

Greetings from Vanuatu!
Our team arrived safely in Vanuatu yesterday afternoon. We’re staying at Hotel Kaiviti for three days, and then flying to Ambrym Island on Saturday morning. I couldn’t ask for a better team of people to be sharing this adventure with! We’re so crazy, diverse and wonderful. :)
Staying in Port Vila has been an interesting experience. It’s crazy to...
Best Adventure Yet!
This weekend was quite possibly the best adventure yet! We drove down to Piha (about 40 mins south of Auckland) and setup camp on Friday night. Early Saturday morning Jake, Sarah and I went out to explore the beach, then met our crew at the Piha Cafe for a lovely breakfast! Then we donned wetsuits and went canyoning in a nearby bush reserve. It was truly epic! That afternoon...

Flat Stanley Goes to Day Camp!
As exhausting as Day Camp was, I had a fantastic team of seven year-old boys and we made an amazing bush hut!
Adrian Breaks Bricks!
Our base leader, Adrian, got called up on stage to try breaking bricks. I think he surprised himself with his own strength!

Adventure Fridays #2 - East Coast Kayaking Adventure!
Prince Cor and Sonship
In a spur-of-the-moment decision right before I left the States, I purchased a 7-in-1 “omnibus” edition of Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia series. So far I have hungrily devoured the first three books. Currently I am reading the fourth, Prince Caspian.
<EDIT: At actual time of posting, I’m already on the fifth book. Crazy, I know!>
I read them all back in elementary school, but now that...
First Teaching - Here we go!
So tonight marked the first official lecture of DTS. It was an awesome Kiwi woman named Mary Turner. She’s speaking about authority. It was pretty sweet!

Now that I have limited access to internet (100MB/wk), it’ll be a bit harder to post videos. But when I can I’ll still do video updates. Here’s joining me for the last day of my Coromandel roadtrip!
I am here.
I’ve arrived at base.
It is well with my soul.
I love the treehouse.
Sam the six year old is brilliant.
I think I’m going to learn a lot from my quiet bunkmate Henry.
This is a good place to read the Narnia books.
Good thing I have them all.
I’ll post more later.
The Real Adventure Begins
I’ve arrived in Auckland and spent the last 2 hours touring the city seeing One Tree Hill where my Dad proposed and the houses where they lived. (I’ll post photos soon!)
The real adventure starts when I meet all my new friends from my DTS program who are arriving on international flights this afternoon!
Here’s to an incredible six months and new friendships!
