The Autumn 2010 Oakridge DTS Crew (yep, the seasons are reversed)
The above photo was taken yesterday during our hike around the Kai Iwi Lakes about 1 1/2 drive from base. It was refreshing to get out and explore nature and kick things up a notch after a few days of orientation.
Tomorrow will mark the official one week mark at Oakridge. So far I have a stellar farmer’s tan, 4 cool roommates, a bunch of new friends, and a great expectations for the following weeks.
Last Sunday I was visiting one of the three local churches that our base supports. I was taken by surprise when the pastor suddenly stopped the sermon to ask me to come to the front and receive a word of prophecy. He said that I would have a heart for understanding the secret things of God, that I would travel where others could not, and that I would teach others. Needless to say, I was a bit taken back but very blessed!
I have very little idea what the future holds after DTS, but I know I’m willing to go wherever He wants me as long as He’s willing to go with me. Everywhere is a mission field.
